I like feeling fit but when I am out of the habit I struggle to get back into exercising. I found Sarah’s website on the internet and liked the sound of her approach so decided to give it a go. I had been wanting to tone up and lose a few pounds for years but never prioritised it consistently enough for any of my efforts to show results and I wanted to make the investment so I would actually get the results.
I was surprised by how much focus Sarah gave to diet; I thought I ate pretty healthily but this attention made me realise there are still healthier choices I can make. It was hard to start with and I felt quite deprived of my wine but I stuck with it and I don’t really think about it now, there’s even a few things I don’t really like the taste of now, but as hard as it was I am glad Sarah was supportive but didn’t relent, and I got through it, and now I do have more energy and make good choices (most of the time!) without it feeling hard to do so.
If you really stick to it the results come pretty quickly- even if it’s just a little bit at a time it keeps going in the right direction! And doing the circuits isn’t a chore any more, I miss it if I don’t do it because I enjoy the progress I know I’ll be making when I do. I have lost quite a few inches and am much more lean, which is what I wanted.
I feel I have mostly achieved my targets but I will continue to see Sarah because the weekly appointments do keep me on track. I wouldn’t want to feel unfit for the challenge of what she has in store for me on Monday mornings! I also like that I feel she has a plan- we do different exercises each session, targeting different muscle groups, and I like the sense that as an expert Sarah knows what I need to do and makes sure I do it in the right sequence. It can be hard to know what you need to do by yourself and now I know that the effort I am putting in will actually be targeted correctly.
Sarah is very supportive on email and is happy to answer any questions, so I do feel like we are in this together. I also like that she knows I get bored easily so keeps the sessions varied and interesting. It’s just a personal preference but I appreciate that Sarah isn’t all shouty and hectic, she is motivational but in a more low key way which is just what I was looking for’ HANNAH Sept 2010

I rang Sarah last August after returning from a family holiday and being shocked at the video footage my husband had taken. I was enormous at 10 stone 10lbs, the heaviest I’d ever been. I felt sluggish, tired and depressed about my body shape and knew I had do something about it.
Sarah focuses on nutrition as well as exercise and the initial two week “detox” was a killer, much worse than the exercise. But it brought into sharp relief just what I had been eating and drinking and also how much. So with a radical reduction in cheese and wine I embarked on the next three months exercise regime, seeing Sarah three times a week. The results have been amazing. I’ve lost 24 lbs and two dress sizes and am now 9 stone. I have real muscle tone and feel healthier and stronger. I sleep better, laugh more and enjoy wearing clothes I never thought I'd fit into again.
Its easy to get into bad habits but that’s all they are – habits. I’ve made a positive decision to change 10 years worth of bad habits and for the most part I can stick to it (cheese and wine do creep in occasionally, though!).

Does Sarah make you happy? Yes – eventually cos if you follow what she says it really works.
Seriously I was in a bad way with a shelf for books see pic 1. Sarah’s combination of sensible food
plans and graded but intense exercise regimes really do sort you out.
I was sceptical and ready to be really miserable through the process but Sarah’s personality is an
ideal combination with an absolute comprehensive knowledge that motivates and works.
Not only did it work but it was fun too. I no longer have a shelf and having lost two stone am on the
way to sorting the third.
I couldn’t recommend Sarah highly enough.

Sarah Brookes has been my Personal Trainer for one year now and she has helped to motivate me into keeping in shape for good. My strength and fitness levels have increased dramatically.

I initially started training with Sarah in order to lose weight for my upcoming wedding after having tried lots of other ways of losing weight but with no success. Sarah makes every session fun and different and she really motivates you with encouraging texts and emails. I personally could never stick to going to the gym as I’d get bored and find it very hard to motivate myself. Sarah has tailored our sessions to my goals and what I want to achieve and has changed the focus of our sessions as my fitness levels have improved. I worked so hard with Sarah to look my best for the big day and I was really pleased with the way I looked when the day finally arrived. So many people commented on how lovely I looked (and not just because of the beautiful dress but because I actually fitted it perfectly) and family who had not seen me for years were actually shocked at the change in me.
Following on from the wedding, I have kept seeing Sarah as I don’t want to lose the motivation and we are just focusing more on toning now than weight loss and hopefully dropping one more dress size and sticking at that size. I have found since training with Sarah that my whole lifestyle has changed – I have not been on some fad diet that I can’t possibly stick to in the long term but I just eat healthily all the time and of course allow myself the occasional treat. I now regularly go to the gym as well which as I said previously I could never stick to but I now have the motivation to go.
I would recommend Sarah to anyone who is looking to lose weight or just wants to improve their general fitness levels and in turn improve their overall health. She is an excellent trainer and is constantly keeping up to date with new exercises and coming up with new ideas to make our sessions interesting.
